Where to Stay for Cycling in Mallorca

Choosing the right base is the most important decision for your Mallorca cycling trip. Each area offers a different riding experience.

Port de Pollença is the cycling capital. It offers direct access to Sa Calobra, Cap de Formentor, and the Tramuntana mountains. The town is packed with cycling-friendly hotels, bike shops, and cafés. Best for serious road cyclists who want maximum route options.

Alcúdia is ideal for mixed-ability groups and families. The flat coastal roads are perfect for warm-up and recovery days, while the Tramuntana is within easy reach for more ambitious rides. The old town is beautiful and there are plenty of non-cycling activities.

Sóller is the climber's choice. Nestled in a valley surrounded by the Tramuntana, every ride involves climbing. The town has a charming square with excellent cafés and a relaxed vibe. Best for experienced riders who want to tackle the biggest climbs.

Palma offers the best infrastructure, restaurants, and nightlife. It's minutes from the airport and provides good access to western routes. Best for riders who want city amenities and don't mind riding through urban areas to reach good roads.
